| What is Pony Club?
Pony Club is a voluntary youth organisation which promotes the physical, mental and spiritual development of young people, while assisting them to gain knowledge and become proficient in their chosen sport.
Pony Club differs from other youth movements because the horse is used as the centre of interest around which to cultivate strength of character, self -discipline while enjoying and taking part in equestrian sports.
Objectives:
To encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horse riding. To provide instruction on riding and horsemanship and to install in the members the proper care of their animals To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.
What does Pony Club involve?
Rally Days, Competitions, Instruction, Camps, Gymkhanas, Troop Drill, Horsemanship Certificates in Disciplines including Dressage, Showjumping, Evening, Sporting, Camp Drafting, Mounted Games, Polocrosse, Show Riding, Tent Pegging and Trail Riding. |
